Summer Camp
Our Summer Camp operates much like the school year daily schedules with a focus on outdoor play, presentations, field trips, and extended learning experiences. While we strive to make learning fun all year round, our approach to summer is the deep exploration of the outdoors and the classroom of the world.
Each year, we build out a new summer schedule based on the interests of our classrooms. Our school age class take many outings to explore the Greater Toledo Area. In order to participate in the outings, we will need signed and dated parental consent forms for each trip. Trips include, but are not limited to: Mud Hens games, Imagination Station, Walbridge Pool, The Toledo Library, The Rec’s Splash Pad, and many more (please note, the summer of 2021 will be adherence with all COVID restrictions recommended by the CDC). For any pool days, the Walbridge pool does have lifeguards and a special parent consent form will be sent home to indicate weather your child is a swimmer or non-swimmer.
Preschool, Toddler, and Infant children will have field experiences come to them at Nourish. Guest presenters include, but are not limited to: Nature’s Nursery, Birmingham Library, Grandma Science, and Shared Legacy Farms. We will have wading pools for water play with teacher supervision. Infant and Toddler children will need signed and dated parental consent forms to participate.
The children will be transported to and from destinations via a bus Nourish leases for the summer weeks. The bus driver will be a teacher who has been trained in transportation and vehicle safety. The vehicle is inspected weekly and emergency exiting drills are held monthly. Staff/Child ratios will be maintained at all times.
